Growing up in a NESTLE
Nothing is as great as kasilife, a place where we all live like one big family. I've been raised in the kasi walls, I learnt a lot about life and as a matter of fact not only my family raised me but the whole of my community did, that's the beauty of being a product from ekasi. " It takes a village to raise a child" that African proverb passed from generation to generation is what kept us as one. when you're from the hood you know you have to take care of your mother grandmother and the rest of your family when you have reached the next level that's the norm.
The hood joy
The dusty streets of Thembisa raised me. seeing those kids with runny nose running on the streets playing what we call (umamkuku) is what brought joy. The moments where we would wake up early in the morning to meet our friends to play skipping rope, the most fascinating part about it is that we did all of this with happy smiles on our crusty faces. We don't have everything in the hood but we have each other and the love shared among us is everything. I still have all the amazing memories about growing up as a hood kid. Such joy isn't found in any other place but ekasi (hood), everybody got their own hood stories . Birds find their Nest as their safest place same goes for us and the hood it is our NESTLE that's the only place where we feel safe and content about all that we do.KASI FOOD 💗
Beauty can be found in the most unexpected places. The beauty of kasi life is the food, it has that unique taste which keeps you wanting more those random chillas at what used to be a park eating the scrumptious bunny chow in which in kasi slang is called "kota". There's something about kasi food that brings people together and create stories that last forever, you find your mouth watering mogodu and samp ( tripe and samp) the mogodu & samp are regarded as a seven colours dish in family reunions in the hood. The dishes served in the hood are the ones that differentiate us from other places like the burbs.
Benefits of using the blog on social media
This blog is mostly established for the youth the 90's kids, some of them don't have full insight about how it feels like to be an individual from the hood, and social media will expose them to such blogs some of them might relate to the memories and the great living of the hood some might not. not everyone knows about kasi life but whoever doesn't, now has the opportunity to read about kasi every time, and everything that comes with coming from the hood. The video clips about making bunny chow might be an advantage for anyone who wishes to start a bunny chow business and help the kota lovers to try make their own in the comfort of their homes. The 2000s babies can also benefit from this because they were still infants during the most amazing times in the hood they will now get a better understanding of how things used to be like. The advantages of using social media to publish the blog is that it has high chances of a great following because people enjoy reading about a person's experience and try relating to it.
Disadvantages
Having this blog on social media might create conflict and ongoing arguments because the people from the suburbs will feel as if their kind of living is being looked down on, and will disagree with things that are being said about coming from the hood.
Recommendations
Social media is not a place where we should make other people feel inferior or less human than they are, when using blogs, bloggers should ensure that everyone feels at home and feel free to engage in all the daily conversations which take place on the blog

Take me back to the hood, where we were told that it takes a village to raise a child, the dusty streets of Soweto;were life was worth living; regardless of high income and earnings, they groomed us to be better people with love and tender care.
